Hello, I am Lucia
I am a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Madrid, Spain.
Several years ago I moved here with my family, and what began as a short-term contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn't in the long-range plan. As is common with expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — new procedures, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complex than expected.
The Adjustment Period
Culture shock, uncertainty, and trial-and-error learning were part of it. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found spots that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt stable.
Why I Built Harbor View Craft
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to close that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in Spain.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Practical experience from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- A resource for tourism authorities
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Spain continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, please feel free to contact me.
Cheers,
Lucia
